2008 PERI Small Entity Scholarship ProgramThe Public Entity Risk Institute will award up to sixty $1,000 scholarships to enable representatives of small public jurisdictions and community nonprofits to attend the Public Risk Management Association (PRIMA) Annual Conference and Expo, which will be held in Anaheim, CA on June 1-4, 2008. The application deadline is March 3, 2008. Scholarship recipients will receive $1,000 direct financial assistance to be applied to any costs of attending the conference, including travel, lodging, and registration expenses; a discounted registration fee; and a complimentary one-year membership to PRIMA (if not already a PRIMA member). PERI’s Small Entity Scholarship Program is open to employees and elected officials of local governments and schools, and staff and board members of small community nonprofit organizations. Past recipients have included city and town managers, city and county clerks, finance directors, risk managers, police and fire officials, public works, human resources, safety directors, school administrators and business officials, and directors and staff of nonprofit organizations. Eligibility is based on the size or operating budget of the organization, and the scope of the applicant’s risk management responsibilities.
